The purpose of
Stepping Stones Residential Program is to provide a safe, supportive
and educational environment for children and their parents to
increase their parental capacity and/or successfully reunify as a
family. Each family
comes to Stepping Stones with unique backgrounds, abilities and
needs. We encourage
residents to respect and be sensitive to each other’s differences.
The goal of the Stepping Stones program is to assist children
and their families to develop skills, knowledge and the ability to
live safely and independently as a family.
MISSION
STATEMENT
Stepping
Stones provides children and their parents the opportunity to
develop and strengthen healthy family attachment in a safe and
nurturing educational environment to ensure the ongoing viability of
the family unit and assess family strengths and needs while teaching
essential life skills that lead to healthy family living and
relationships through empowerment, guidance and support.
VALUES
Stepping Stones believes
that children have the right to safety, permanency, well-being and
mental health. Stepping Stones believes that children have the right
to grow and live with dignity and respect.
When children are treated with respect, they gain
self-respect and respect for others.
Stepping Stones believes that, when supported and empowered,
children are better able to engage in healthy family living and
relationships.
VISION
Our vision is
that all children experiencing issues related to safety, stability,
consistency will be able to access social services and supports
needed to ensure proper growth, development, health and safety.
