Stepping Stones is a dynamic and cutting-edge intensive Infant Mental Health residential treatment program whose focus is to ensure that children achieve overall health, well-being, and development through a collaborative process with care providers in a safe and structured environment.  Stepping Stones foundational belief is that all children are entitled to safety and permanency, ideally with their biological parent(s). Through our treatment focused program, children who may be at risk of or have been removed from the custody of their biological family participate in services to address identified individual issues related to their care and family of origin, in turn, assisting children in achieving reciprocity and trust in relationships through structure and consistency.

Stepping Stones provides infants and children under the age of five and their caregivers an opportunity to address a variety of problematic familial patterns and behaviors vital to ensure healthy relationship development.  Stepping Stones primarily delivers treatment services through the medium of treatment groups, individual therapy, family counseling, case management and 1:1 instruction. This unique program provides opportunities, values and ideals to families in hopes of incorporating those into the family’s belief system, therefore creating stronger and healthier relationships in which the child may grow and prosper.  In addition, this belief system reduces the risk of harm to children, increases safety and breaks the cycle of family dysfunction.

MISSION STATEMENT

Stepping Stones provides children and their parents the opportunity to develop and strengthen healthy family attachment in a safe and nurturing educational environment to ensure the ongoing viability of the family unit and assess family strengths and needs while teaching essential life skills that lead to healthy family living and relationships through empowerment, guidance and support.

VALUES

Stepping Stones believes that children have the right to safety, permanency, well-being and stable family enviroment. Stepping Stones believes that children have the right to grow and live with dignity and respect.  When children are treated with respect, they gain self-respect and respect for others.  Stepping Stones believes that, when supported and empowered, children and their care takers; are better able to engage in healthy family living and relationships.

VISION

Our vision is that all children and their families experiencing issues related to safety, stability, consistency will be able to access social services and supports needed to ensure proper growth, development, health and safety.
