Youth Drop In Center

 

Link to service providers for:

  • Heath, education, legal, social services, mental and physical health care, job preparation and attainment
  • Access to life skills/parenting literature library
  • Use of computers for Internet research
  • Use of phone for long distance calls relating to health or employment
  • Counseling and support meetings, and Independent Life Skills classes
  • Healthy snacks and a friendly ear in a safe environment

Who served:

  • Youth ages 12 to 22

Location of program:

  • 6 High Street, Houlton ME

Eligibility requirements for program:

  • All youth are welcome that are interested in learning skills to become self-sufficient

How assessment is made:

  • Meeting with or a call to skilled staff available 24 hours a day, and referral to appropriate care partners and/or programs to assist individual youth with problem presented
Calendar of Activities


Monday-Thursday: 8 a.m.-Noon
Stepping Stones School.
Individualized tutoring and study for GED preparation, or diploma.

Mondays: 1:00-1:30 p.m.
Parent Nurturing Group.
58 Pleasant St. For parents and their children ages 0-12 months.

2:30-3:30 p.m.
Parenting (just for parents)
at the Youth Drop In Center, 6 High Street.

Tuesdays: 1:00-1:30 p.m. Parent Nurturing Group.
58 Pleasant St.  For parents and their children, ages 13-24 months.

Wednesdays: 1:30-3:00 p.m. Art Experience

Thursdays: 1:00-1:30 p.m. Parent Nurturing Group. 58 Pleasant St. For Parents and their children, ages 2 years and up.

Fridays: 8:00 a.m. - Noon.
Dress for Success.
Attendees are asked to come dressed appropriately for an interview.

All community youth are welcome to attend programs at the Youth Drop In Center unless schedule indicates otherwise.
